On ya bike

We passed a fairly big milestone this week - my glad lad finally learnt to ride a bike. It took a huge amount of perseverance, pressure - and tears - but we got there. Proud mama moment. I'm hoping it has taught him some valuable lessons on working hard and not giving up - and that if you fall off, you just climb back on and keep trying. I have many happy memories of cruising around our neighbourhood on my blue Raleigh 20 with the others kids from our street - these days it's harder to do that, living in a city (and a hilly one at that). At least it gives us more of a excuse now to get out and enjoy our parks and bikeways. Hoping it's the start of some happy childhood memories for him.
